Begging for Bedtime

Well, in the middle of my last post things turned a corner. Lizza is starting to hesitate before she wets her panties. She starts to look uncomfortable, and now she has started to come to me for comfort. She came over to me while I was typing (should have been paying more attention of course). She peed on me, but then she got the rest in the toilet, which is a huge first! A few minutes later she circled the kitchen a few times talking about poop. I told her very calmly, when the poop is coming, go to the toilet. Usually I would have run in there right away, but we have been doing that all morning because it is apparently so fun for her. I had to hide the toilet paper because that was the only reason she said she had to go for several hours. Then after the pee pee hit the water, I'd be down half a roll. Anyway, she was pacing the kitchen and then she went in and sent her little calling card right in the toilet. Awesome. She is still a bit confused. I think she had more right after but didn't want to get her bum wiped again. She got a little in her panties. And then she basically gave me the rest of her lunch and said it was nap time. Amen. A rest for us both.

The method I use is from http://www.3daypottytraining.com/

This company is out of Lehi, and they are much bigger than they were 4 years ago when I trained Quinn with it. But the system is great. After I trained Quinn, they used a quote from this blog on their home page for about 3 years. It is a very positive and loving program. But it is straight forward. There is no sitting on the potty all day. There is no begging them to go. You just teach them in a few days how to feel the signs and how to keep their underwear dry. The most important part of this method is that it uses 100 percent of your attention so that you catch and communicate about every accident in the moment. This is always new for me because I am not a mom who is always or rarely ever an arms length from my little one. I probably should be more often. But I love that this methods makes me dedicate three whole days to spending time with and playing with my baby. I have gotten better with age. With Quinn it took a lot of prep work, and I was 8 months pregnant with Kenna at the time. I was so on edge and worried that I would mess up, and it would all be for nothing. I got better with Kenna, and today for Lizza's day one, I have felt really relaxed. We baked, we played, she peed on me. No problem.

When I started this for Quinn you just bought an eBook online that you were allowed to share with 5 people. A friend loaned it to me. Now the book is improved, and it comes with phone counseling and support for the three days and beyond. The price also seems to have gone down since Kenna's training. It is now only $24 or something like that. It was at least $40 and then higher at one point. So good deal.

So, here we are. Lizza is doing great. I am less panicked, and all is right with the world. Lizza is a little more silly than the other girls were about the process. She laughs and plays and things it is fun. But she is more silly about everything so no surprise there. But other than that -- it's about the same. They pee they learn -- the panties get dry eventually.

When I say, "Smile and show me your panties," this is what she does.

Can't get enough juice and root beer in this one. Let's get this party started.

The pic with her hands on her ears is her "listening to her body." Lol!

A little rest before the BIG successes this morning. YAY, LIZZA!!!
