Have you ever read, "the birthday box" by Leslie Patricelli? I love it! It is about a little boy who gets a box with a stuff dog inside for his birthday. He spends half the day playing with the box before finding the toy inside, and then he spends the rest of the day playing with the box and the dog.
Last night I brought Quinn's gifts upstairs in a box to hide them invade she got out of bed during the wrapping. I forgot about the box. Quinn has now been playing with it all morning. First she filled it with gifts and taped it up to send it to a friend. Then she covered it and made it a table for a birthday party, and now it is a hair salon.
Glad I did not go over budget for the big bday party. "It's my birthday, an I got a box!" (Leslie Patricelli)
