For Quinn's first Easter, I walked with my 2 week old down to the candy store and bought Easter treats and gifts for baby Quinn, Tim, Chris, and Avery -- who were all living in our house at the time. I made really great baskets, and my favorite part was a stuffed bunny for baby Quinn. I was a chihuahua in a bunny suit. My friend Bridget says its about the ugliest toy she has ever seen. But I LOVE it. And it started a now 6 year love of random stuffed animals in bunny suits. The key is the animal has to have its own set of ears that are tucked in under a removable bunny hat. This cracks me up every time and is my one and only favorite Easter decor.
That first year also started the tradition that the baby of the group gets a stuffed bunny. This year baby Lizza, of course, go a new bunny. Yay!! It's none other than Mickey, himself, in a bunny suit. Soft, cuddly, on sale, and dressed for the occasion. This, for me, is the summary of "the little things in life." This dumb bunny made my Easter and healed the wound of 3 weeks in California that -- yet again -- did not include a trip to Disneyland. Thanks, Mickey!
