Cascade Falls with Lizza

I took a 20 minute adventure to the falls before work the other day. I'm trying to create a habit of going outside any chance I get. Many people know that I love a temperature controlled indoor talkathon, so this is a change in character. It's a welcome change, though, and I am excited about it. Sometimes I get jealous that Tim gets to spent more time on hikes or on outdoor adventures with the girls. He also has a much better wardrobe of fancy expensive outdoor adventure wear, which I am trying to catch up on. When the roads are dirt, I suddenly feel like Old Navy from head to toe is not cutting it. Also the other day, Tim made the slightest comment when I put on one of his Patagonia jackets like, "Wow, that looks amazing on you. Way better than the crap you wear." I paraphrase. I guess my favorite black fleece -- a NY jeans special edition 1996 complete with cat hair and kid boogers -- could use replacing. I wonder if he realized how much his little comment will cost him. The cheapest replacement I have found was on clearance for $120. He probably should have kept his mouth closed because now I am a little determined to dress better than him. I bet all my hikes with feel better in $200 pants, right?

But the goal is to get out more in GAP jeans or whatever and enjoy the mountains and the amazing fresh air. With only Lizza with me the other day, I got all the way to the falls! (Not far) And I didn't have to sit back with kids who were too tired and get stuck taking pictures from afar. The falls were so pretty up close. And Lizza loved the ride.
