Sore feet, a little throw up, and a great day

I started the day with Saltines and a talk with my sweet mom, where we reminisced about Lizza's birth and strategized on how to keep the barf away in my upcoming business trip. The girls were in the kitchen all watching as Quinn painted the pot that came with her new garden she got for Christmas. I gave her the painting project to stall them all as tried to think through the empty fridge and figure out something I could call breakfast. It was kind of a miracle when some old camping oatmeal feel from the cupboards. It was going to be a great day.

And it was.

I got Quinn to take a shower and let me brush out her hair while she read a book. We read a few chapters together of "a cricket in time square." Then we headed to a neighbor's house an acting class the kids go to a few times a month where they put together a play in an hour and a half and then perform for the parents. I hung out with the mom while we waited and had deep talks and yummy snacks.

When we were done, we brought Kenna's buddy from school home with us, and Quinn started setting up a hot chocolate selling stand outside at the ski hill. For some reason I jumped on this and gave her everything she wanted. I even said yes when she asked to move the whole operation over to the Ice Park and sell to cold, tired ice climbers. Off we went. I loved it. We didn't take Kenna up to the ice park -- and when we got all set up, Quinn panicked because Kenna and her friend had all the confidence for selling! She sent Lizza to make the first few sales.

When we ran out of water, we headed home to count the cash and learn a little about business. Quinn was devastated when Tim suggested she pay her assistants and when I collected for next week's supplies. But it was all in good fun. She started pottery classes this week, and she is saving for the next session I classes in March.

Then the girls and I headed to Montrose ... For Chinese food! Well, pizza and Chinese food, but that's it's own story. We ate, we laughed, and then we headed to City Market where we ran into a great friend of mine from Ridgway. We all ran through the store together - more laughing, more fun. I only threw up once in the parking lot, and we headed to our final store. My dear friend Lindsay kept me awake on the drive home with a wonderful talk about life and home schooling. I love her, and learn from every talk.

No, my feet hurt, my stomach hurts, and I am thirsty from the MSG, but my heart is so full of joy and love for my children and adventures we enjoy. How much more fun with said adventures be when we add another angel to the mix in August 2014.
