Two pregnant moms, six kids, one cat and two great days in Ouray, Colorado.
It was seriously a treat to have Lindsay come visit this week. Not sure how I function without my best friend on most days -- but all of that disappears anytime we're finally back together. Our kids have so much fun together playing with stuffed animals -- which for some reason is really important to them. They sang Frozen karaoke, swam, climbed, and hiked. We ate tons of cookies, hot dogs, and piles of spaghetti. We fell in love with pretty rocks and wiggly caterpillars.
Louis panicked while rock climbing and then aced his swim test! DJ loved tucking in her shirts, explaining very clearly why he too was terrified while rock climbing (a hammock once broke while he was in it) and LOVED some LET IT GO at the mircophone. Benny continued to love meeting old people and furry animals and sliding down the new green slide at the hot springs. He's an old soul. What special boys. We'll miss them so much while we're in Tennessee. As they drove away, I started to cry. But Kenna's wailing was so much louder -- I went straight to work to comfort HER. It reminded me of when Lizza drove away last September to move to Virginia. I sat on the front steps crying for 20 minutes. Change is hard -- but we are moving on to great places and amazing journeys.
I already miss my friend.
