My kitchen is back!

Last year was rough. It was rough for me. It was rougher for my kitchen. I'll never forget this moment on a drive from Walmart back to Ouray when I admitted to my sister that I'd been feeding my family TV dinners since we didn't live near fast food and I was too morning sick to cook for my family. She all but reprimanded me. I tried to be better, but there wasn't much I could do. I just had to wait it out. But it is over. The darkness is over. My kitchen is back. I've been trying to remember how to prep raw food and how to enjoy vegetarian, gluten-free and some other cuisines I had once mastered. I'm off sugar and grain right now for health reasons -- and I am slowly getting a taste back for everything else. And I since I am starving all day everyday -- thank you, Charlie -- I get lots of chances to try new things.

Tonight after the kids went to bed, I savored this apple slaw with an orange-cashew cream sauce -- a few berries and almonds. From Rawglow.com. I added Lemon juice and cinnamon before the dressing.
