Evergreen Rodeo Parade -- year one
Headed out with the kids this morning to the Evergreen Rodeo Parade. There is also the Denver Pride Parade this weekend, and both parades sounded like sunburn and traffic. But it always how much more you can accomplish with kids when they don't wake you up until 8 am. We headed out at 9:15 and scored both a parking spot and a deer shady spot. Some men with beer and beards had parked their boat along the parade route, and they gave us their shade and their chairs. They bought the kids poppers, and let Kenna and Lizza up on the boat for a picture. The shade and kindness saved me from certain parade death, and the whole morning was lovely. The parade was long and fun and full of candy, which was the most important thing to the girls. Charlie loved the trucks and cars, and preferred loud ones to quiet ones. He got tired a few times and climbed into his stroller and a few times up on to my lap for a snuggle. The family sharing the shade with us all had blonde dreadlocks and her an awesome contribution to the guys in the boat throwing poppers at the democrat float. Loved it. I almost feel energized for the Pride parade tomorrow.
