Prepping for Snow and Sledding

Oh yes, your eyes are not deceiving you. Quinn is walking in the snow in her princess night gown. You see, we've been planning to go sledding on Christmas Eve, and so I set out to buy us all snow clothes for that and another chilly adventures this year. But Quinn wanted nothing to do with any of it. I found the perfect coat .... she would not wear it. I found the perfect snow pants ... she would not wear them. And the story continues with hats, gloves and boots. But with Quinn it is always just a waiting game. As long as I don't make a big deal out of it or pick a fight that I can not possible win, she will eventually feel the cold air and come to her senses.

So the other day when I brought home snow boots, I let her do whatever she wanted with them. She wanted to try them in the snow. So off she went outside in her night gown and new snow boots. But you will notice the evolution. She eventually asked for a coat and then for gloves. And today when we went sledding she wore the whole lot.

Patience and humor. Critical components of parenthood.

Yesterday Tim brought home the sleds for the Fellow Christmas Eve Sledding Adventure 2009!! Quinn and I were so excited. we decided to go sledding in my bed.
