Quinn's Puppy Party: The Prep and Landing

So, I made a few mentions of the big event a few weeks ago. But on your marks, get set ... here are the pictures, friends. Tons of pictures to perfectly document a perfectly overdone event that entertained me for far longer than it entertained Kristie Quinn.

The party was dog themed and kind of looked like a cheesy dog calendar threw up on it. I didn't spend that much money, but I did spend a lot of time. I collected a bunch of stuffed dogs. The party activities were based on each guest adopting a dog to take home. All the party favors for toys to play with for their new dogs.

I made the cake myself. I wanted it to look like a sheet cake from the store that a puppy had walked across. I think Quinn would have preferred strawberries instead of doggy paws, but strawberries are not as fun and not in season.

I couldn't find any pink dog-themed party decorations, so I had to make a lot of my own. I cut out these big paws for place mats. I might add, I can't make much, but doggy paws (formally known as panther paws, Go Panthers!!) I have down pat.

Each guest collected quite a few goodies at the party, so I had these Doggy bags lining one wall. It helped me keep things organized during the party.

I had a button to pin on each guest as they arrived. I wanted to have doggy ears and tails for each kid -- but that did not work out. And this was a ton cheaper.

Here is the pile of doggies to choose from. They are all in the "Dog house" tent down stairs, and each child got to go down and get the one they wanted.

I had a few things set up for any parents that stayed during the party. I sliced some oranges, pulled out a crystal pitcher, and Lindsay baked some fresh bread since I was running out of time.

Each place setting had a paw print, a real dog done, a candy dog "stick," and two dog shaped rice krispy treats.

I could have fallen asleep before anyone showed up. The prep wore me out, but I had so much fun. It really was for me. But as I always say: It's my birthday, too, because I did the birthing.
