So we have made it the through week 2 and half way through week 3 with a full leg cast. Kenna still runs around all days like a --- well, like a 3 year old. She is happy most of the time and seems resigned to wearing her big soccer socks in order to play in the sad and in taking sponge baths that make her cold. This week we bought a cast shoe online which makes it a little easier to walk/run and keep the cast in one piece. She doesn't love it, but she doesn't argue. She really is pretty tough and pretty cool about all this. I try reLy hard not to say the words swim or pool around her because I'm pretty sure every time she remembers she can't swim in his 85 degree Arizona weather, she slips -- and then I slip -- into a mild depression. Not major depression but like a sad Charlie Brown mope around the dry, inside activity. So we spell the word S W I M and try to keep the pink wonder in one piece.
PS I think it made Kenna feel special yesterday when her cousin got hurt and had to go to the hospital. It was like she has a buddy in the lame hurt people club, and the club suddenly became pretty cool. She misses her cousin, but he is singing a little louder today (with a slightly slutty Ariel dress with a broken strap.
