Oh, yes, only 4 weeks in, and we scored a role in the school play! My "role" I mean Quinn got to talk on start with a bowl on her head, hand it to the Quinn, and then walk off stage again all with her back to the audience. It was beautiful and brilliant, and you have never seen a more excited 6 year old or group of 6 years -- as the entire Kindergarten of 13 children also had this role. The energy was crazy. I read the form that came home about the part. Two performances. Once during the day and one at night. When Quinn found out we were planning on attending only the twilight performance, she was broken-hearted. Her big debut. So, one of the perks to living next door to the school is that Tim took Kenna over to watch at noon, and I ran over between appointments, just it time to see the shining moment. Later that night I took Kenna so we could watch from start to finish. The show was Dear Edwina. This play is adorable. I want to get the music for my kids. The story is about a little girl who lives in the shadows of her talented siblings. Her only talent is giving advice, so she starts a Sunday morning advice show for the neighborhood children in her garage. Her dream is to be invited to the Advice-A-polusa so she can frame the invitation and put it on the fridge next to all the ribbons and awards from her brother and sisters. Each song in the play has advice about kid problems like how to deal with food you don't like or how to make a new friend if you don't speak the language. I bawled. Even though we have only been here a few weeks, I had already most of the actors in the play. I eat lunch with the forth graders after Quinn finishes and heads to the play ground with the kindergarten. They are a delight. I mentioned before that they all sit together, they take care of each other, and they were all really into this play. One day at the pool I met the girl who played Edwina, and her sister is one of our babysitters. Love this small town, and I loves watching all the children -- especially Quinn -- really shine in their moment. LOVED THE SCHOOL PLAY!
