Date night

We scheduled another date night this week, and like the previous 4 date nights before it started raining first thing in the morning. There is no good food in Ouray. There is no movie theatre, no bowling alley, no shooting range (that was a joke, of course), no batting cages, no mall to walk around, no target super store to pick through -- mini golf has really limited hours -- and we don't drink. So unless we're saving up for a couples massage, it's outdoor sports or bust on date night. So, we like to rock climb, kid-less, on our dates, and you can't rock climb in rain. But a miracle came upon us, and at 3 pm it stopped raining. Then our sitter came at 4, we climbed from 4 to 7:45 pm and it started raining again at 7:53. Amazing. We found some Asian fusion and headed home by 10.

The climb was awesome. We went to the Great Wall of China, right outside of Ridgway. It was gorgeous. We drove through a little juniper/pinion Forrest, and I got the sniffles for my old cabin. We hiked up a little, tiny canyon and had to hold to a shady rope to get up a 3 foot ledge that had turned into a water fall with all the rain. The wall itself is beautiful and kind of looks like black monkey bread. Tricky hand holds -- especially when wet. A few times I had trouble getting off the ground. But we had a great time, and Tim sended a 5-10a that has given him a little trouble in the past. He rocked! We had a great time.
