This is a high-protein high energy drink that could take the place of the meal for a kid who's too busy playing to stop and eat. The seeds plump up. I tell my kids they turn into candy. Works every time :)
1 teaspoon Chia seeds
1/2 cup cranberry juice
2 to 4 cups cold water
Optional: granulated sweetener
Mix ingredients together and place in fridge for 30 minutes to one hour so chia seeds can plump up and take the consistency of Jell-O.
An optional method is to just add the Chia seeds to straight juice for kids that are not used to teas or diluted drinks.
A friend of mine puts this in her water bottle and carries it around throughout the day. She says she drinks way more water and gets other added benefits with this fun drink.
