I was feeling really in love with my kids today. Next thing I knew I was buying Kenna a new dress up and wig and scavenging through Target looking for bits and pieces to make a grey mouse costume for Quinn -- her greatest heart's desire. And then -- within a few hours Lizza was picking out a costume and learning how to trick o' treat at the neighbor's house. When the girls got home, they had new pink pumpkin baskets and lots of time to knock on my door for "treats" all afternoon. Trick o' Treat training has become a tradition for me and my littles -- and I love it.
Lizza was in a bad mood when she woke up and did not want to put in a witch costume that she believed was "just a dwess." I gave her some space and went up stairs for a few minutes. Next I heard a little person coming up the stairs. She was still mad -- but now she is wearing a backwards with dress and a hat. And she was saying in a grouchy voice, "I a been knocking." Hence -- we needed some prep and training.
