I had a horrible day, and yet there was so much good that came out of my little town today. These are things that made me fall in love with Ouray again today.
1) I got an email from Quinn's friend MJ tonight (first grade). The kids at school can email during a lesson they do every few days. MJ and I have an on going conversation about things that scare us. MJ's afraid of slippery roads. Me too. I love my emails from MJ and of course my emails from Quinn too.
2) Many people knew about Tim's big test in Utah today. When the testing system crashed and ruined my week and maybe my life, I was fine keeping this drama to myself, but I knew I didn't have to.
3) After school the girls raced out of the car to run inside and get their ski clothes on. They skied with NO FEAR until dark. Neither girl knows how to stop.
4) While we watched, a friend pulled out an electric stove and made everyone dinner.
5) When Kenna's skies flew off on the tow rope, the local handy man -- who was also skiing -- stopped and helped. When he was done, Kenna looked at him sweetly and said, "thank you. But now you are in my way." He thought this was amazingly funny.
6) My friend sent me a text that said, "Do u need me to pick up 1,2, or 3 kids for the talent show???" I said. "I love you. LOL 2 kids please. (Lizza was too sick to go. But she was willing I take everyone so I could sleep.)
7) When Quinn was called up to be the magician's assistant at the talent show -- multiple people texted photos within seconds since I wasn't there.
8) I tried the frozen limeade in Ridgway for the first time today -- and I will never be the same.
I hope everything works out and we get to move where we need to next year. But in the meantime -- it's always sunny in Ouray.
That's a joke, of course, since it's usually dark and cold here. But today it was lovely inside and out.
