Pop Star Training Part 1: McKenna'a first dance recital

So, not sure if I have mentioned it but my shy McKenna wants to be a pop star. At first we casually diverted her to careers like doctor and lawyer, and then we will we realized we had something here. We talk it up big and tell her about all things pop stars do and have to do. Anything she doesn't feel like doing ..... Smile, please honey, for the picture .... Pop stars have to smile for pictures all the time! Done. She's easily converted, and it has really brought her out of her shell. We decided to out our money where our mouth is and let her take ballet/pop star dance lessons this season. The recital was last week, and I fully expected to drive the hour to Montrose and pay $40 in tickets to watch my child (NOT) dance on a big stage. But she pleasantly surprised us by knowing the dance, dancing, and smiling. There was a lot of looking at her feet, but she was into it. We were so happy for her. Her favorite part were the flowers at the end. She kept looking around the green room for people she might know (barely at all) so she could shyly walk up to them and show them her flowers. She wanted pictures with everyone she saw. LOL it was awesome! So Proud of Her!
