So a few days ago I was all peaceful and ready to embrace a great week -- remember? Then I freaked out on the kids and the neighbors kids, and it all kind of went to hell. Oops.
But really some things have been great -- and the rest as I have said -- well, it's just me.
My play date with my new friend Betsy was awesome of Monday. She is amazing and so fun to talk to. She's already said that I'm only here for two years. Oh, and we didn't realize we lived a whole hour apart until we were already on friend love, so now we just have to deal with it.
I also had an amazing visit to Hobby Lobby. There is all kinds of political stuff with The Hobby Lobby right now, but in the end, it loves me and keeps multiple displays of whatever I happen to be looking for. So much turquoise. It speaks to me.
And then today I was able to really pull it together with the kids. We agreed to have a family day with less neighbor time in order to get ready for school to start (tomorrow.) We ate together (with a neighbor's face pushed up against the glass door ...), we did a sand art project (that involved successful sharing), and we unnecessarily drove an hour to a swimming pool just because and even made new friends while we were there. We got home, ate Wendy's, took baths, brushes hair, set out our school close, and the day was done without mom doing much yelling.
Sometimes it takes me hitting rock bottom for me to then pull it together and be a great parent. I'm nuts.
A little scared to send my kids to the local public school -- but I'm going to roll with it. Onward!! Goodlettsville Elementary Here we come!!
I wonder what mood I'll be in tomorrow ....
PS -- one of my highlights of today was when during a 10 minutes break for kids from the water, Lizza immediately found a puddle on the nasty ground to lay in while she waited. Hilarious!
