Grumpy and garbage

So the kids are as grumpy as ever. I am trying to be understanding. After all we have been dragging them around on a 2 month vacation living out of suitcases and sleeping on the floor. But let me tell you -- they have all gotten mean. Quinn is grumpy and pouty. She is really emotional. She doesn't listen, and then when we get stern, she gets really hurt feelings. URG! Just listen the first one child!! I have been using the grandma's art more often lately. Both Tim's mom and my mom are experts at distracting Children when they are about to make a bad choice. Unused to rule with an iron voice and scold a lot, but it did not work so I have added distraction to my bag of tricks. It works some times. This morning Quinn wanted to wear footsie pajamas to a garage sale. This would have been fine but we were going to be gone all day buying junk (literally junk that other people are selling). So we wanted her to wear clothes. We also did not want to fit it too much with other garage sale experts. I finally convinced Quinn that if she wore jeans and a blue shirt, we could be twinners. That worked, and it felt better than yelling at her for being an ungrateful jerk. But to say the least distraction is my always working. Kenna is on a hunger strike. He won't eat eggs or really anything that is not candy. Normally I would be fine with jut having her not eat of she chooses my too, but now she has learned to scream and cry about win hungry all day. Say it all you want, "I just tell her that's it until dinner." But that "good parent" plan goes to crap after an hour of whining. I'll while her a chocolate feast 10 am if it will quiet her. I guess the game an with Kenna is to nip the whining in the bud and give her more attention. Working on it. But it's a long journey.

And Lizza is the terrible 2 I never had.
She had the loudest high pitched scream I have ever heard. Today when she was screaming at us and we were trying to ignore her, Tim leaded over and said, "I'd be fine with another cat." Charlotte was sitting peaceably on his lap. Lizza screams "no" and "I do it" all day. But she like all of them is adorable and in love her so much. I, however, really want her to stop screaming at me. She also screams "mo nuts," which makes me forget how loud and annoying she is.

We spent the whole day together. More time than we have ever spent together in day outside of the cabin. Tim suddenly loves being with us. Garage sale shopping with him could have been a problem, but he was so patient and just did what I said. We went to three sales -- bought nothing -- and one craigslist house where we spent $15 on the worst microwave table ever. It felt sturdier at the house. It makes out kitchen look less old, hippy Victorian gross and more good will white trash. It will have honor get moved. Yuk. We stopped at a park and plate together for 45 minutes, and then we found two dining chairs for a great price at a consignment store. We spent an hour trying to filter through the storage unit and find things. We found two black tables and a few kitchen items. This I what we are still looking for:
The microwave
The dining table
My juicer and blender
Flatware
Adult plates
Cups
My clothes -- I have a ripped pair of jeans, work out clothes and one skirt.
The double BOB
The Apple TV
Art for the walls

So, it was a productive trip to Montrose, but sometime between the storage unit and stopping and Target to get Quinn her first lunch box, she wet her pants and did not tell us. What? I am seriously screwing up my kids. What is that? When we asked why? She acted like "no duh" and said "There wasn't a bathroom, so whatever!" Deep breaths. I was both annoyed an very worried at the same time. We headed home for baths and then walked one block south to the Ouray county history museum to become members and take a walk through before dinner. The minute we got home, it started to snow. At least the timing was on our team today.

I met our neighbors Suzanne and Patrick -- sons Sam and Cooper. Thy bare amazingly normal and nice. I hope she likes me.

It's about time to get Lizza out of time out. I'm so tired.
