Long Day

I had a long day, and I am very tired. But I did not have as long of a day as Quinn, who is stomping and pouting and evening away. I don't really blame her. She is gone for almost 8 hours. She is used to be gone for 3 and a half and then having plenty of time to play and relax. She's pretty ticked right. But since she is mostly pouting, we are ignoring her. Sad. Once she learns that pouting doesn't work, she will probably go back to screaming. Not looking forward to that.

I had a fun adventure with the little girls this morning. We drove to Montrose -- really slowly so I could look at stuff along the way. The fog was cleared out finally, and I had beautiful views of all the mountains and valleys. I was also really excited about the view of the Target. I didn't think they had one there. But sadly I chose Wal-mart. Mostly in hate Wal-mart, and try to not cave to lower prices at the sacrifice of charm, class, health, and society. But the prices earlier in the week view so expensive for the groceries I bought in town, I felt like I needed Wal-mart to even it up. Plus, I knew Target would tempt me with all kinds of teal throw pillows, and we are just not there yet in the decorating (or paying for things process).

But I must say this Wal-mart was great. Not a lot of people. No lines. And more produce choices than I remember. We got all the way through the store and to the check out. I caved and gave the girls their ring pops while I was checking out. Then I reached for my wallet only to remember that I left it in y counter bag from when I was working at the chocolate shop. Crap. I basically started crying other checker. Remember I was 40 miles from my house, and I do not know a soul. Basically they called over a manager who was like a nice grandma. She let me write a check even though I did not have ID. I just had to call Tim to get my driver's license number. It went pretty smoothly. They even let me write the check for extra so I would have cash if I needed it on the way home. So, Wal-mart was not all bad, but I was still relieved to see a health food store on my way back to town.

The girls and I took the long way home so I could see all the rentals we didn't get and get lost a few times. We ended the trip with our visit to the Ridgway library and a stop by every doctor in town to pick up business cards and try to find someone to take off Kenna's cast next week. The library was awesome. Big kid play section and tons of kids picture books. We'll hit our first story time next week.

We tried to check out the town history museum after we picked up Quinn -- but everything here closed at like 4!

Quinn pouted for the entire time it took to type this post on an iPhone. I'm impressed.

For the record, I really feel bad for her. She is so tired. The days are so long, and she it's really old enough to understand why she feels so tired and angry. I love her so much and hope Incan help with the transition.

Outside the library there is this strange stone rock art thing with chains and rocks. Big seller with the littles.

Walking from the post office --- closed --- to the museum --- closed.
