So, I finally got shoes and coats on everyone this morning, and we made it out the door to head to the school and enroll Quinn in school. I was nervous because a woman on the office staff at her Arizona school was really mean and multiplicative -- and controlling. She made me scared of new school. But onward. Since the school is just across the street, our cat followed is. She squeezed into the school doors, and I was chasing our cat down the hall before I had a chance to say, "hi, I'm new."
But everyone at the school was really nice. They took me and the kids down to Quinn's class first thing. There are 10 kids in her class. She will be number 11. The circle rug was literally a small circle. Each kid had a water bottle at their table. and the teacher goes by Ms. Monkey, and she sounded very excited to have Quinn. School runs from 7:50 am to 3:30 pm. I got tears in my eyes when they said that. I'll miss my baby. I'll also hate dragging her out of bed in the morning and enforcing and strict bedtime at night. But mostly I'll miss her when she is gone -- ALL DAY. And it is not like she is that far away. In a small town everyone lives close to the school. But this is crazy. I am siting on my couch right now with the front door open. I can see the sign for Ouray School. And just to the right of that sign -- is Quinn's classroom. See that window that looks like it is from an old house? Nope that is the kindergarten classroom.
