I loved our hike today. Basically I love the giant rock walls and cliffs in Moab, and it always takes my breath away to arrive and starting having run. It is crazy how many hiking and camping spots are not even in the two national parks in this area. This hike was just through a cool area Tim had need to before. I fell in a river and got soaking wet shoes. The bottom of my jeans were soaked, and I could help feel the irony that I have not worn a boot or flare pants since my lat pregnancy, and then on this day when I pulled out the old, outdated maternity jeans, I had ALL that extra wet fabric flapping as I continued the hike!! LOL
We finished the day by finding our cabin at the local KOA -- super small and RIGHT on a but road -- but the kids could not have been more excited. That's what it is all about. Everything was fine there -- but that was probably our first and last KOA visit. For example -- is it camping if you have to step out of your cabin to pew in the night BUT you don't need a flash light because the road and the camp office will just light the tree up for you? No thanks! And I think I have a new general rule that if I am paying for a place to stay, it should have less traffic noise than my house. I don't ask for much :)
